VERY IMPORTANT!!!

As NYC prepares for what school looks like in the fall, on the assumption schools are open part time, meaning your child will be in school possibly 2 days a week, we need to know if:

1) You will choose to send your child to school and receive a combination of In-Person and Remote Learning at home

or

2) If you'd prefer to keep them home for 100% Remote Learning.

***Please note, if you decide to keep them home for 100% remote instruction, there will be other opportunities during the school year to change your preference and send them in part time.***

Please let us know immediately which of these two options you will choose by completing the Learning Preference Survey or call 718-935-2200 by August 7 so we can plan accordingly.

School Spirit Day Every Friday! - Wear your PS 97 Gear!

Dear PS 97 families,

Welcome to an exciting 2019-2020 school year! As the principal of PS 97, I welcome you to our school. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with the highly qualified staff, the wonderful students, and the supportive families. As a parent, I know how much support our children need in their academic, social and emotional development. Here, at PS 97, we make every effort to help your children achieve academically and socially. It is our goal to create an enriched learning environment that engages and challenges each student. We are dedicated to providing our kids with high quality world-class education that will help them become leaders and citizens of the world.

Of course, in order to succeed, we need and welcome your support. We are committed to working with students and their families as a team. We encourage you to become active in the Parent Association and the School Leadership Team. It is a wonderful way for you to share ideas and to support the mission of the school. Please contact Lea Yingfong Mui, our Parent Coordinator, for more information.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know you during our many upcoming events and celebrations, our monthly Family Visitation days, Family Volunteer days, and Family Fun Nights!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or meet me for a monthly "Breakfast with the Principal" to share your suggestions and aspirations for our school.

Working together makes a difference in the lives of our students. We thank you for your support and welcome you to the new school year!

Sincerely,

Irina Cabello, Principal
